DOME Course
Frequently Asked Questions
What dental and surgical colleagues ask before booking, answered.
Credits and enrollment
Will I get CE credits?
Yes. 8 CE credits for the online webinar series and 19 CE credits for the in-office course, issued by the Austrian Dental Chamber.
How do I enroll in the online lecture series?
Purchase access through the website. After payment, your email address is registered for all webinars automatically. Only registered emails can join, and the link cannot be shared.
Are the online sessions recorded?
Yes. Recordings are available to you for 30 days. We recommend joining live for the Q&A after each lecture.
Can I book only the in-office part, or is the online series required first?
We strongly recommend the online series first. The in-office course is built for skill-building and live patient treatment, and assumes the lecture content.
Can I join the lecture series now and decide on the in-office course later?
Yes, if seats remain. The lecture series builds your foundation in sleep-disordered breathing and maxillary expansion. The in-office course builds the skills to deliver treatment.
Who it is for and what you learn
I have not done MARPE before. Is this course for me?
Yes. The online series covers the basics of orthodontic mini-implants: application, risks, and benefits. In Vienna you learn to insert them safely and run the full workflow, from planning the mini-implant position in the CBCT, to ordering the appliance, to placing screws in a realistic bone model and mounting the expander.
Will I be able to confidently deliver expansion treatment after this course?
Yes. The course is designed so you can start providing maxillary expansion, with the complete workflow from diagnosis to delivery.
What will I learn in the online lecture series?
- Your role in treating sleep-disordered breathing
- How maxillary expansion relates to nasal breathing
- Risks and complications, and how to avoid and manage them
- Treatment algorithms for adult versus pediatric patients
- Outcomes of maxillary expansion for your patients
What will I learn in the in-office course?
- Place mini-implants with confidence
- Observe the workflow in a live patient
- Deepen your grasp of sleep-disordered breathing and maxillary expansion
- Apply the no-diastema protocol
- Learn directly from Dr. Stanley Liu and Dr. Claudia Pinter in an exclusive setting
I want to learn the no-diastema protocol. What should I book?
Both parts. The protocol is introduced in the online series and is a focus of the in-office course. After completing both, you can use it confidently with your patients.
Hands-on and equipment
How is mini-implant insertion taught in the in-office course?
You place mini-implants yourself on a true-to-life bone model mounted in a phantom head, both through a guide and freehand. Because the model sits in a phantom head rather than on a bench, you orient yourself as you would with a patient in the chair. You also observe Dr. Claudia Pinter placing mini-implants in a patient.
Do I need to bring equipment?
No. You receive a TAD Starter Kit for the Benefit Screw (PSM Medical) as part of the course, free of charge.
Which screw and expander system is used?
The Benefit Screw System (PSM Medical). A mini-implant with abutment screws gives the highest precision on TAD insertion and the most reliable expansion.
What resources do I receive to implement what I learn?
- Workflow images to share the step-by-step process with your team
- Videos of pre-drilling, mini-implant placement, and expander insertion
- Questionnaires
- An app for ENT referral
Will the surgical DOME cuts be taught?
Dr. Stanley Liu demonstrates the surgical cuts for educational purposes. The course does not train or authorize dentists to perform surgical cuts in their own practice.
